Rumbach/Pfalz in the Dahner Felsenland 23 – 30 July
This is little visited part of Germany, where the red sandstone outcrops and rock formations rise above the mixed woodland. Castle ruins perched on rocky promentories lie on well marked walking routes on both sides of the Pfalz-Alsace (French) border.
The Haus Waldeck on the edge of the village has en-suite single, double & 2- and 3-bedded rooms, some with balconies, mostly enjoying a fine view to the south. In its spacious but cosy restaurant or on the terrace traditional meals and local Rheinland Pfalz wines are served (www.haus-waldeck-rumbach.de)
